Illustrator Skills Showcase

Intro

You will develop six school-appropriate tattoos for different individuals, but all tattoos have the same style/tone. You must use Illustrator or Fresco to create your tattoos.

Who

My target market is anyone who is looking to get a tattoo, this is a very diverse market which means I have
to be able to do many styles to appeal to different clientele.

Time Line

I had thirty hours or ten school days to complete this project.

Skills

I used Procreate and Illustrator to make these designs. The sketches were done in Procreate and the final lining was in Illustrator.

Struggles

I struggled with shape creation on this project, most elements for all designs needed to be drawn using freeform tools like the pencil tool to get the lines and shapes required for the designs.

Process

Step 1

Find clients and create a mood Board. I first made a form that I had each of my clients fill out I asked the following questions.

Where about your body? Would you like to get your tattoo?
How big would you like your tattoo to be?
Would you like color or black and gray?
What are some tattoo styles that you like?
Tell me anything you think I need to know when designing your tattoo.
