Misa Miller

Misa Miller, better known in the music world as Miss Riot, is an experimental pop-rock artist existing in the year 2004. She got her industry start following a rumored romance between herself and a fellow, much more respective rockstar. However, what started as a rookie mistake in the industry turned into a calculated PR stunt that was used to build her image and popularity in preparation for her debut album, the now infamous PARTYREVULSION.
“It’s a play on words.” says Riot, “It’s like a party that goes on for so long that it makes you want to vomit from exhaustion or one too many, but one that’s also full of music that can be seen as revolutionary in the industry. That’s what I like to call my material. Revolting but revolutionary.”
She’s listed as an artist who’s ahead of her time, not only in terms of musical mixture genius, but also in terms of fashion. She creates for the sake of passion, not for the sake of simple creation. She’s known to stand with her beliefs and work with heavy confidence, especially during interviews and public appearances.
NOTE: This playlist is one that is meant to instrumentally resemble or match the vibe of the songs on PARTYREVULSION. Riot wanted to show everyone right off the bat what she has to offer, hence the clash in genres.
Her Story
Misa has always dreamed of having a life that’s bigger than herself. And no, that’s not just a play on her stature of 5 foot even.
She was born in Seattle, Washington on October 8th, 1982. Her mother never treated her with the utmost respect for reasons never stated, but her father was always there to fill in the gaps by giving her love and affection that was enough to come from two people. She’s also mentioned having a younger sister on occasion. However, their names are never given in interviews, as she often publicly states that she cut all communication with her family when she dropped out of college in 1999 to pursue music. That is with her father and younger sister as a rare exception of course.
Now on her own, her first step was to rip everything out of her savings accounts and move down to Los Angeles to make a name for herself. She spent a lot of her time visiting local bars, underground clubs and venues, all in hopes of expanding her musical knowledge and resources. When she wasn’t partying, she was working a low-end job at a decent fashion boutique where she was able to buy herself some clothes to tailor for herself at a pretty good discount.
Everything seemed perfect until late 2003, when she met a real player in the industry during one of her late night party escapades. A rockstar who, at the time, was a leading name in the rock atmosphere. At first, she saw a one way ticket into the music world… that is until the two of them decided to mess around and put an unofficial title on everything that happened between them. It was frustrating for Misa, being known to the public as some famous guy’s unknown side hustle. She wanted to make a change.
While using his name as leverage, she got access to producers and other musicians so she could start working on her debut album. During the summer of 2004, it was finally complete. All of her late night writing sessions and producer arguments paid of when PARTYREVULSION was released under the SUNNY Records label, debuting at #1 in the US charts. From there, she only went up.
