About Me and My Career
Hello, I’m Kasen Ridley Verstuyft. I’m 17 years old and in my Junior year of high school as of now. I’ve been fascinated with animation and art for as long as I can remember, but to know how this came to be, we need to back track to when my obsession with art as a hobby began. I starting drawing seriously back in middle school in the 8th grade, honing my skills for the real world and taking criticism just to fix little things in my technique to make my art even just a slight bit better; I tried everything. Going into Freshman year, I came across an Art Block and I felt distraught at my lack of creativity so I took some time off of drawing. Going into Sophomore year, I started drawing again and I started to see massive improvement in my works. Though I hadn’t come across my own art-style yet, It was starting to take shape. It was around the end of my Sophomore year that I found out about Francis Tuttle and I decided I would go down this route. And now, in my Junior year, I’m learning more and more ways to apply my creativity and skills into animation and digital illustration.
How I work
I work mostly as a digital illustrator right now but going into the future I really want to get into animation. The way I do my digital illustration and animation is through Adobe software provided by Francis Tuttle funding. The main Adobe software I use are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
