BPA SKILLS SHOWCASE

I had 30 hours to design a Logo, Windbreaker and Stress ball for the Business Professionals of America (BPA). The Logo had to symbolize honoring the past and looking to the future and it had to include the words “60 Year Anniversary” and the tagline “Honoring The Past”.  The Windbreaker and Stress Ball had to include my logo, the windbreaker had to have it on the back and front.

Logo Sketches & Type Experimenting

I started by sketching out logo designs. I used circles and triangles in the design because they symbolize “past” and “future”. I also played around with the type for each logo.

The skills I used were my knowledge of photoshop and general graphic design skills such as hierarchy while sketching designs.

The challenges I faced for the sketching portion was figuring out what to do with the type, such as where to put it and what font to use.

Logo Creation & Logo Revisions

I began turning my sketches into actual logos while still playing around with type and color palettes. Out of the logos I chose the one I believed to be best as well as the one people seemed to like the most. I then made revisions to that logo again and again until I found the layout I liked, then I played around with color palettes until I found one hat symbolized anniversary and one that I liked.

The skills I used for the actual logo creations were most of the same except I started using my knowledge of color palettes.

I continued to struggle with typography until the very last version of my logo but I believe I found a good spot and balance.

Windbreaker & Stress Ball

Once I had the logo I began work on the windbreaker. I found a royalty free mockup and added color to it and added to the design of it to match my logo. I then added my logo and made some other adjustments.

I finished the windbreaker and started work on the stress ball I had a similar process where I found a royalty mockup online and then added my own coloring and logo to it. I adjusted the logo a couple times and then finished the project and began exporting.

The skills I used were more of the same however this time I had the challenge of fitting my logo on a stress ball and windbreaker. I struggled with resizing the logo but I overcame that obstacle by figuring out a alternate resizing method.
