I was tasked with creating a character using specific qualifications all due within thirty hours. I chose the prompt “a cold rat” from the five selections. Here is how it started.
I began with looking through expressions and trying to figure out just how I wanted my character to come off to the audience.
Next I looked through different variations of anthropomorphic rat references to kind of get an overall idea of what I’d be working towards.
After that I had to pick out clothing for him. I knew that whatever happened I wanted this rat to wear something.
This was my first attempt at drawing out the character and getting an overall feel with sketching.
With the original sketches I tried out a few different color pallets for the character.
After careful consideration and the opinion of others around me, I chose the navy blue and red in the upper left hand corner.
