Skills Showcase: Character Turn-Around
Planning/Pre Production
My Project was to create a character turn-around off of a prompt. The prompt was “An ignorant human who is tall and plump, with short, straight green hair, brown eyes, a dark skin tone, and a mustache. They love fashion. They want to own as many books as possible but fear pollen.” I had my character be a mascot for a convention for magic. I wanted the character to give off a magical fantasy vibe but to still remain somewhat modern.
Sketches
In this stage, I planned out the character’s appearance, personality, name, expressions, color and silhouette. This helps me get a better feel for the character and how he would interact in different situations. I had some difficulties getting his emotions to look expressive with his giant mustache, and I had some difficulty with getting his silhouette to look unique. however, after some peer review and recommendations, I got his expressions and silhouette down! these are the sketches I turned in to my C.R.E.W for review.
Current Versions
The following GIF and Character Sheets are my current versions of my character. I had some trouble getting the GIF lined up and running smooth, and I had some trouble getting the turn-around portion of the character sheet to look coherent. other than that, I had no difficulties with this portion! this was a really fun Skills Showcase, and I feel like I learned a lot doing this project.
