Song Animation

This is an animation for the song Suburbia Overture / Greetings from Mary Bell Township! / (Vampire) Culture / Love Me, Normally by Will Wood. It has been one of my favorite songs for a while, so I thought I’d try to it justice with an animation using my characters and setting. So far, only the story board and a rough animatic is done, because I’m mostly focusing on schoolwork at the time. The story board is below, and you can click the image above to see the animatic.
The story follows Wren (marked with a W on the storyboards) as they’re brought back into the nearby town they’d been banished from long ago. Sunny is the person who brought them back, and he tries to get them to integrate back into normal society. Things get rocky, however, when Wren finds out their parents have replaced them with a new child, named Angel. Angel is widely adored by everyone, which creates an inner turmoil in Wren on if they should act out or play nice.
Once I complete them, I’ll upload the reference sheets for all the characters in the animation. I’ll also add on to this page whenever I complete more of the project. I don’t have any sort of deadline for this; I’m just making it for fun.
